Helpfulness is a top priority at TEST-FUCHS – stem cell typing performed in 95 persons

If standard therapies are not effective any more, a stem cell donation of a person with healthy stem cells constitutes the last chance for survival for the affected patients! 
Due to the sad news that an employee of the company TEST-FUCHS is suffering from multiple myeloma, a stem cell typing campaign was organized in the company on 20 March 2024. 
Finding this one person with suitable stem cells compares to the infamous search for the needle in a haystack: 1:500.000 to several millions! But help can be provided – if healthy and aged between 17 and 45, people give an uncomplicated saliva sample at „Geben für Leben – Leukämiehilfe Österreich“. In case of a match healthy stem cells are taken out in a blood washing procedure similar to dialysis in 80% of the cases.
The helpfulness of all colleagues from the company TEST-FUCHS was great! 95 persons have been registered in the database „Geben für Leben“ in only a few minutes. Those not eligible as donors helped by donating money, for „Geben für Leben“ spends 40 € on every typing procedure, 100% of which must be funded by donations. Many thanks for the precious support in the amount of 965 € and the helpfulness of all employees!

The value of typing is underestimated by many. For a seriously ill person, it can mean the difference between life and death. It is not just a simple action, but a possibly life-saving step. And everything you need for it is a cotton swab. It can hardly be much more simple to save a life!
