TEST-FUCHS Aerospace Systems and Kistler launch technological cooperation
Partnership bundles European expertise in high-precision measurement solutions in the aerospace industry
Gross-Siegharts/Winterthur, June 2026
TEST-FUCHS Aerospace Systems and the Kistler Group have announced they are partnering to develop measurement systems for the aerospace industry. This cooperation combines Kistler's dynamic measurement technology with TEST-FUCHS' system integration and certification expertise for safety-critical aviation applications. All process steps, from development to series production, will take place in Europe under the "Airborne Sensors Made in Europe” slogan.
Speaking about the partnership’s strategic importance for the European aerospace industry, Marc Schaad, the Kistler Group’s CEO, states: "The cooperation brings together two market leaders from the fields of measurement technology and aerospace. We also share core values such as premium quality standards, reliability and innovative capabilities. By bundling complementary skills, we create lasting added value for customers along the entire value chain. At the same time, the partnership will strengthen Europe's technological supremacy and competitiveness in a dynamic, global market environment."
Volker Fuchs, the TEST-FUCHS Group’s CEO, continues: "The market is clearly developing towards more resilient European supply chains. With Kistler, we are combining our strengths to offer OEMs technologically advanced, independent sensor solutions. In this way, we want to position ourselves specifically in programs for the next generation of aircraft."
European value chain for resilient supply chains
The collaboration focuses on developing pressure, force and acceleration sensors for use under extreme operating conditions. These include high-temperature environments in engine monitoring, cryogenic applications related to hydrogen propulsion and networked sensor components for structural monitoring of modern aircraft systems. The solutions are developed specifically for safety-critical, in-flight applications and must meet the aviation certification requirements.
Focus on next-generation aircraft and strategic OEM programs
The cooperation addresses increasing demand from OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers for technologically outstanding, resilient European supply chain solutions in the aviation sector. Kistler will contribute its expertise in piezoelectric and piezoresistive sensor development and production. As an integration partner, TEST-FUCHS with experience in qualification and certification processes and series production of safety-critical aviation components, as well as an established customer base of leading aviation OEMs.
In addition to joint product development, in future TEST-FUCHS will also act as an integration partner for measurement solutions for OEMs and open up additional fields of application. TEST-FUCHS already covers the level sensor and temperature measurement sectors with its own products. An initial common goal is to position the companies in key programs for the next generation of aircraft and to replace discontinued sensor components in existing programs.
The "Airborne Sensors Made in Europe" initiative sends a clear signal from Kistler and TEST-FUCHS for a technologically independent European aviation industry.
