    Valve Types

    Shut-off-Valve (SOV)

The principle of design and dimensioning of the Shut – off Valve (SOV) is a pneumatic or motor driven valve allowing restricting the flow of hydrogen in both directions.

    Types
    • Cryogenic
    • Gaseous
    Actuator
    • Solenoid
    • Motor-driven
    • Pneumatical supported
    Characteristic
    • Minimal leckage
    • Quick Closing @Power loss

    Parameter
    • Fluid pressure: LH2: 22 bar
    • Fluid temperature: 20 K < 370 K
    • Flow rate: 0,2 kg/s
    • Operating voltage: 12DC or 24VDC
    • Closing Time @ powerloss: <400ms
    • External leackage: ROM 1E-06 mbar l/s
    • Internal leackage: ROM 1E-04 mbar l/s

    Flow Control Valve (FCV)

The flow control valve is a 3/2 valve type, with a electrical regulation of the gas flow.

    Characteristic
    • Electrical controllable
    • PWM or Constant type
    Parameter
    • Fluid temperature: 20 K < T < 370 K
    • Operating pressure: 10 bar
    • Pressure drop: <0,1 bar
    • External leackage: ROM 1E-06 mbar l/s
    • Internal leackage: ROM 1E-04 mbar l/s

    Check Valve (CV)

The check valve (CV) is defined as automatic passive valve, which opens with forward flow and closes against reverse flow.

    Characteristic
    • Minimal leckage
    • Minimal opening difference pressure
    Parameter
    • Fluid temperature: 20 K < T < 370 K
    • Operating pressure: 10 bar
    • Pressure drop: <0,1 bar
    • External leackage: ROM 1E-06 mbar l/s
    • Internal leackage: ROM 1E-04 mbar l/s

    Pressure Relief Valve (PRV)
    Safety Valve (SV)

The pressure relief (in this case boil-off valve) acts as a pressure relief valve in a hydrogen system in case of a rising pressure due to change in LH2 temperatures.

The safety valve acts also as a pressure relief valve, but could handle much more Flow in Emergency situations.

    Characteristic
    • Minimal Leckage
    • Constant opening pressure
    Parameter
    • Fluid temperature: 20 K < T < 370 K
    • Flow rate: e.g. 0,02 - 4 kg/s
    • Operating pressure: on customer demand
    • Reseating pressure: at least 5%, 10% tight
    • External leackage: ROM 1E-06 mbar l/s
    • Internal leackage: ROM 1E-04 mbar l/s
