“We give the future”: TEST-FUCHS signs apprentice charter 2021

TEST-FUCHS is the leading Austrian company in the field of test system construction and component production in the aerospace industry. The family company, founded in 1946 and headquartered in Groß-Siegharts in the Waldviertel, employs around 600 people worldwide in Austria, Italy, UK, France, Singapore, China, the USA and Germany. At TEST-FUCHS, high quality, top technology, innovation and reliable support are of the utmost importance.

In the innovative company, great value is placed on high quality apprenticeship training and further education. The aim is to give young people the best possible professional and practical training. The TEST-FUCHS apprentices prove this again and again. They have been taking part in the Lower Austrian state apprenticeship competition and the federal apprenticeship competition since 2009 and have already achieved top placements seven times.

By signing the “We give a future” charter, TEST-FUCHS has committed itself to training apprentices as a central and essential part of the company's specialist training even during the Covid19 crisis. Supporting young people in the region is very important to TEST-FUCHS. Well-qualified and specialized specialists are a key success factor for the further development and competitiveness of the company in the international market.

The “We give future” initiative was launched by Margarete Schramböck, Federal Minister for Digitization and Business Location of the Republic of Austria. During the COVID-19 crisis, which presented Austrian companies and the labor market with unforeseen challenges, this initiative is becoming even more important. Because the shortage of skilled workers is already clearly noticeable now and will certainly also be felt after the crisis.

“Skilled workers are the backbone of our company and will continue to play a very important role in the future. Along with the development of new drive technologies, such as hydrogen, it will be very important to train young people specifically in this direction. With the charter, we underline our commitment to training specialists ”, says Volker Fuchs, CEO and company owner.

At TEST-FUCHS, apprentices are trained in the following professions every year:

  • Mechatronics technician - automation technology
  • IT technician - system technology
  • Metal technician - machining technology
  • Design engineer - mechanical engineering
  • Electrical engineer - plant and operating technology
